Overuse of technology and media socially isolates our generation, destroys their social skills, and allows them to be prone to health issues. Obsessive use of technology socially isolates us and destroys our social skills. The first effect of excessive time with technology and media is social isolation. As published in the New York Times article â€Å"Antisocial Networking†, the Pew Research Center found that half of American teenagers — defined in the study as ages 12 through 17 — send 50 or more text messages a day and that one third send more than 100 a day.
